Being a Boss

Hello my beautiful people! Happy Saturday!

This week was employee appreciation week at my company. Usually, its expected that the branch managers do something special for their employees on each day. Every year I go all out. I’d bake cookies, make goodie bags for each day, give personalized gifts with hand written notes etc. and every year I’d barely get a thank you. In turn every year I’d have to remind myself that I’m doing it for them but, ultimately everything I do I do it unto God. So, this year, I decided to keep it simple. Not that the team didn’t deserve it but I was tired. I mean, covering for employees that have been out due to COVID, dealing with virtual learning with my kids, making schedules, dealing with clients, handling complaints, everything that comes with being a working momager in 2020. So here’s a list of what I did with all my tired heart.

Monday- everyone was greeted with a flower at the door and a store bought cheese danish in the break room

Tuesday- M&Ms with a note that said “many, many thanks for all you do”

Wednesday- A small goodie bag with a candle, head massager and a ginger tea bag

Thursday- Lunch from chilis

Friday- Donuts

Yes, it was simple, but I did it with a truly appreciative heart. And, this year my employees were more grateful then any other year. They got me flowers, gift cards, perfume, candles and lots of thank you’s. I was speechless!! I was so blessed!! I was in tears , and it’s exactly what the doctor ordered. You see, I know that I’m loved, I know that my team appreciated me. I know I do everything I can to be fair and to lead not BOSS. But, sometimes, a kind gesture goes such a long way. I share this story to encourage any leader to keep going. Keep encouraging, keep being kind. You might not feel appreciated, you might even feel frustrated, but, when you do it unto God in excellence you will be blessed in return. Every step you take should be ordered by him. If you feel like writing a kind note to someone and you’re tired, do it any way. It goes a long way and God sees it.

Be faithful in the little and he will make you rulers over much Luke 16:10

In Love,

Mrs_Noso
